Introductory Calculus part I

Winter 2012

Professor: Ed Migliore

Prerequisites: none

Grade Received: A

UCSC Class Description

“A modern course stressing conceptual understanding, relevance, and problem solving. The derivative of polynomial, exponential, and trigonometric functions of a single variable is developed and applied to a wide range of problems involving graphing, approximation, and optimization.”

The Work I Did

In this class I learned the basics of calculus. I learned about: limits, fundamental theory of calculus, derivatives, and rate of change. I was tested through online homework, quizzes, a midterm, and a final. This class provided the basic information needed for many undergraduate upper division class.

Here is a sample of what I had to solve:

  • Sample limit questions
    Sample limit questions
  • Sample applied derivative question
    Sample applied derivative question
  • Sample related rates question
