“Covers conversion of ICT project into a fundable grant proposal for social justice, integration of social activism, entrepreneurship and justice, and implementation of project. Topics include: funders, proposal design, field methods, project assessment, innovative ICT applications, action research methods.”

The work I did

This class is structured as a lecture tuesday’s from 6-7:45pm and a tech lab thursday’s 6-7:45pm.

  • In the lecture part, I learned how to apply for granting funding for my  ICT-based social enterprise project. Through case studies and lectures I as was able to learn about funders, proposal design, field methods, project assessment, innovative ICT applications, action research methods.
  • In the tech lab part, I took ‘Intermediate Web Design’. I used my domain and WordPress themed site to get a better understanding of how WordPress fits in the context of Nonprofits. I dove deeper into CSS and learn just a smidgen of PHP. At the end of the course, I was able to create a functioning site for any small Non Profit or NGO and teach them how to use and maintain it.

Since learning and going through this program, I  have become a fellow and integral member of the internal tech team.
